my best bits of 2023

A few of the things that made it a memorable 2023.

film

An accidental find. Quirky, funny and sad all at the same time. Never wanted to go to Honolulu until I saw this.

television

The fact that someone even thought of this way of optimising the way we work, even just for a TV show, makes me slightly scared.

event

3

Not a regular visitor to art galleries in general, but really enjoyed seeing all different types of art from local artists together in one place at the Royal West of England Academy's Annual Open Exhibition. There was something really exciting about seeing sculpture, classic landscapes, surrealist paintings and textiles all together - quite inspiring.

destination

Concert in the main square to celebrate Ravello's Saint Day

Ravello, Italy. Stayed for a week, chilled by the pool and fortunately got to both see a concert at the Villa Rufolo and the celebration for Ravello's Saint Day, San Pantaleone, with some of the most amazing fireworks I have ever seen.

book

I missed 'The Courage to Be Disliked: How to Free Yourself, Change your Life and Achieve Real Happiness' by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga when it first came out. I really enjoyed the perspectives, it is especially relevant in the world of social media consumption.
